Nelle precedenti edizioni, da Ferrara a Cesena, il pallone ufficiale con cui disputare la finale di I Divisione era sempre arrivato in modo rocambolesco dall’alto, grazie a paracadutisti che planavano al centro del terreno di gioco. Quest’anno la palla ovale dell’Italian Bowl arriverà invece da terra, ma con una modalità non meno emozionante per tutti gli appassionati di american football: ovvero consegnata dalle mani di una delle più recenti leggende del gioco.
Havas Sports & Entertainment, insieme a tutta l’organizzazione dell’Italian Bowl 2017, è orgogliosa di annunciare la presenza a Vicenza l’8 luglio di Calvin “Megatron” Johnson come guest star dell’evento.
Nato a Newnan, in Georgia, nel settembre del 1985, Calvin Johnson è stato scelto come secondo assoluto nel draft NFL del 2007 dai Detroit Lions, con cui ha giocato 9 stagioni da professionista prima del ritiro, datato marzo 2016.
Wide receiver capace di mixare forza fisica, velocità, coordinazione nei salti e grande controllo delle mani, Calvin “Megatron” Johnson è a tutt’oggi il detentore di ben 12 record NFL assoluti, tra cui maggior numero di yard ricevute in una gara (329), maggior numero di yard ricevute in una stagione (1964), maggior numero di gare consecutive con almeno 10 ricezioni, infine giocatore più rapido (solo 115 partite) a raggiungere il ristretto club dei ricevitori con oltre 10.000 yard in carriera.

CALVIN “MEGATRON” JOHNSON GUEST STAR OF THE 2017 ITALIAN BOWL
The official ball for the First Division final has always made a show-stopping entrance from the skies at previous Italian Bowls from Ferrara to Cesena, dropped in by parachutists gliding down to the middle of the field. This year the Italian Bowl’s oval ball is coming in by land, but its arrival will be just as thrilling for American football fans as it will be accompanied by one of the game’s more recent legends.
Havas Sports & Entertainment and the organizers of the 2017 Italian Bowl are proud to announce that the event’s guest star in Vicenza on July 8 is none other than Calvin “Megatron” Johnson.
Born in September 1985 in Newnan, Georgia, Calvin Johnson was selected as the second overall pick in the 2007 NFL draft by the Detroit Lions, where he played for nine seasons of his professional career until retiring in March 2016.
A wide receiver with an incredible combination of strength, speed, leaping ability and exceptional hands, Calvin “Megatron” Johnson still holds an amazing twelve NFL records, including most receiving yards in a single game (329), most receiving yards in a single season (1,964), most consecutive games with at least ten receptions, and the faster player to join that elite club of reaching 10,000 receiving yards (115 games).
